Why Educators Rising

Collaboration and Camaraderie

Educators Rising offers several opportunities for students to take leadership roles and connect with and learn from current and aspiring educators across the country at the National Conference.

We partner with institutions of higher education to continue serving our members at the collegiate level by recommending education programs that supply them with support throughout their college careers. These Educators Rising Partner Institutions work to diversify the profession, offer recognition for future educators, and provide support outside of the classroom.

Curriculum and Programming

With the Educators Rising Curriculum, chapters can follow best practices for implementing their program, which includes:

  • Clinical experiences in which students work in real classrooms under the guidance of a cooperating teacher, allowing them to gain real-world experience and practice to refine their teaching skills.
  • Lessons strongly anchored by the seven Educators Rising Standards define what students exploring teaching need to know as they take their first steps on the path to accomplished teaching.
  • Scholarships to support students who go on to pursue degrees in education.
Competition and Recognition

As students develop teaching skills, they deserve recognition for their growth. Educators Rising offers:

  • National Competitions: Skill-based competitive events to stretch their creativity, commitment, and professionalism.
  • Micro-Credentials: Performance-based assessments that allow rising educators to showcase their growing skills.
  • Honor Society: A way to elevate the image of teaching by highlighting high-achieving students who are dedicated to a career path in education.
  • We know that students who have participated in the Educators Rising program are better candidates for joining a college/university teacher pathway program. Don’t forget to list Educators Rising on your college applications.  Note: We offer colleges and universities the ability to verify membership for any student who lists participation on their college application. Only paid members will be verified.
