Teaching Fundamentals: Skillsets and Mindsets introduces students to the education profession and builds interest in an Education & Training program while encouraging a standard of excellence.

INSPIRING THE NEXT GENERATION TO TEACH THROUGH CLINICAL EXPERIENCE

At the end of the program, students will be able to demonstrate what they have learned from the sessions in a live classroom environment.

To assist in this crucial program component, all participating schools gain access to Educators Rising’s clinical experience resources to assist you in planning for your rising educator’s classroom experience. These include resources on preparing rising educators for clinical experiences and resources for teaming up with partner schools and teachers.

PROGRAM BENEFITS FOR STUDENTS

Rising educators will build confidence in their teaching skills, create lesson plans, and practice professionalism. Working with students is sure to inspire or increase the passion of your students and solidify their desire to continue on the path to becoming an educator.

Participating students also get an opportunity to participate in the member benefits of Educators Rising, including access to scholarships, honor society recognition, competitions, and a network of passionate peers.

WHAT ARE THE SKILLSETS AND MINDSETS?

Developed and tested with 894 aspiring educators from Massachusetts, Teaching Fundamentals: Skillsets and Mindsets draws provide lessons in pedagogy and professionalism to inspire individuals to become educators.

To support users with the implementation of the program, Educators Rising provides a teacher leader guidebook that offers a flexible six-week scope and sequence that can be adapted to the individual needs of the learners and their schedules.

The guidebook also contains an overview of the program, clinical experience integration with lesson scope and sequence, and steps on joining as a teacher leader.

In most districts, the fees to implement the program can be paid out of existing student development funds and the program meets eligibility for funding under the American Rescue Plan Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER). Contact us to learn about funding opportunities.
