June 01, 2016

Arlington, Va., June 1, 2016 — The journey to accomplished teaching is a marathon. What should the first steps look like? Educators Rising Standards — developed by practitioners convened by Educators Rising with support from NEA and the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards — are the teaching profession’s answer to this vital question. The new standards, set for release on June 22, will form the bedrock for new, high-school-based “Grow Your Own” pipeline programs across the country.

Join student voices, practitioners, and education sector leaders for an interactive discussion on breakthrough innovations in teacher recruitment and preparation to mark the release of Educators Rising Standards. The event will take place on June 22 at National Education Association, News Conference Room, 1201 16th Street, NW, Washington, DC 20036. It will begin at 10 a.m. ET and end at noon ET.
